What to Expect on Promenade Day:
Registration fee for the costume contest is $10.00
There is no charge to walk in the Promenade
Parking can be a bit of a clam in Asbury Park during the summertime ~ ~ ~
Get to town early and take in the sights ‘n’ sounds of our city on the shore!
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
11:00 – 4:00 ~ A face painter and vendors selling mermaid art and jewelry will be at the Asbury Park Yacht Club.
12:00 – 2:00 ~ Registration at the 2nd Avenue Pavilion on the Boardwalk, near the water park.
2:00 ~ SharqiDance performs a mermaid belly dance!
2:05 ~The Promenade begins, led by the inimitable Gypsy Funk Squad~Taking place entirely on the Boardwalk, it will commence at the registration tent, then head north to Convention Hall, where it will turn around and head back to the starting point.
2:45 -3:00 ~ The costume contest [for registered promenaders] begins in the registration area. The King and Queen and costume contest winners will be chosen by Yamê and the dancers of SharqiDance.
3:00-6:00 ~ The after-party is at the Asbury Park Yacht Club with DJ Don Dazzo spinning some seaside sounds.

THE DAY IS LIKELY TO BE HOT AND SUNNY. PLEASE BE SURE TO DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THE SUN
